These honey glazed pork chops are the perfect balance of sweet and savoury. With just four ingredients the marinade whips up in a flash.
Honey glazed pork chops are the perfect BBQ treat. They are easy to make and their sweetness appeals to most tastes.
Since you can marinate the pork chops for up to 24 hours, you can do all the prep work in advance for an even easier weeknight dinner.
Preparing Honey Glazed Pork Chops
Ingredients
Soy sauce: Made from fermented soybeans and wheat, this Chinese condiment is salty and very dark in colour. There are many different varieties of soy sauce but we use dark soy sauce for this recipe.
Honey: We can thank bees for this luxurious sweet ingredient. Bees make honey from the nectar of flowers of which the excess is collected by beekeepers, bottled and sold. There are many different types of honey varying in taste and consistency. You want to make sure to use a honey that you like and one that is runny.
Apple cider vinegar: Apple cider vinegar is made from fermented apple juice and is milder in taste than white vinegar. It adds acidity to this recipe.
Pork chops: Pork chops are a loin cut meaning from the upper body portion of the pig (hip to shoulder). It’s one of the most popular cuts of pork. You can get pork chops on the bone or boneless. We use boneless ¾-inch pork chops.Â
How to Make Honey Glazed Porkchops
Prep the Chops
If your pork chops require prep, start with that. Mine were about an inch and a half thick so I cut them in half. This gave me four ¾-inch chops.
Next, make the marinade. Combine all the marinade ingredients in a small bowl and stir until the honey is fully dissolved in the other ingredients.
Add the pork chops to a sealable container like a silicone bag or glass dish with a lid. Pour the marinade over the chops and stir to make sure all the pork chops are submerged.
Marinate for at least 30-60 minutes. If you have the time, marinate for up to 24 hours. Doing this prep in advance is a huge time saver at dinner time so I highly recommend it. Â
Grill
When it’s time to cook, warm up your barbecue to about 450°F.
Place the pork chops on the hot grill and reduce the heat directly under the meat to low to prevent burning. The honey will be quick to burn so you want to limit the exposure to direct fire.

Grill on each side, with the lid, closed, for about 3 to 3 ½ minutes depending on the thickness, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.Â
Remove from the grill and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
Serving Honey Glazed Pork Chops
I love these honey glazed pork chops with potatoes and a veggie side. You can serve these pork chops with a side of spinach salad and homemade French fries or roasted potatoes and asparagus.
But these are just two examples. These are also great with our lemon parley rice and a side caesar salad. You can also skip the rice and turn this into a light lunch by serving the chops as a pork chop Caesar salad.

Grilled Honey Glazed Pork Chops Recipe

- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- ¼ cup runny honey
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 4 pork chops
Instructions

- Add the pork chops to a sealable bag or air-tight container and pour over the marinade. Marinate for at least 30 minutes, up to 24 hours.4 pork chops
- Heat up the barbecue to 450°F.
- Place the pork chops on the hot grill and lower the heat to medium-low. Cook for 3 1/2 minutes on each side with the lid closed. The internal temperature should reach 165°F. Keep an eye on the flames to make sure the honey doesn’t burn too much. You want to get a char on the pork but not burn it.
- Remove from the heat and let rest for a few minutes.
- Serve with your favourite sides.
