Preparing Baked Yogurt Chicken Thighs
Ingredients
Chicken thighs: Use boneless skinless chicken thighs for this dish. They are easy and quick to cook and always turn out moist.
Plain Greek yogurt: Greek yogurt is yogurt that has had the whey and other liquids strained from it. It’s thicker and creamier than other types of yogurt. Vanilla is just flavouring that is added to plain Greek yogurt.
Lemon: Lemons are a citrus fruit loaded with vitamin C. These somewhat oval, yellow fruit are packed with flavour. They are sour and sometimes tart and add freshness to recipes.
G&K Italian dressing: A simple combination of oil, vinegar and herbs this semi-creamy dressing is the perfect balance of acid to bring like to any dish.
Paprika: I use sweet paprika, or just paprika which is most commonly found in grocery stores. It is not sweet in the sugary sense, but compared to its spicy and smoked siblings it is definitely the sweetest of them all.
Garlic powder: Garlic powder is dehydrated garlic ground to a powder. It’s sweeter than raw garlic so it just adds a hint of garlic flavour without the sharpness.
How to Make Easy Juicy Baked Yogurt Chicken Thighs
If you are cooking this dish right away then start by turning on your oven to 400ËšF.
Also, if you don’t have any G&K Italian dressing on hand you’ll have to make it now.
Step 1: Prep the marinade/seasoning
Combine all of the ingredients, except the chicken, in a glass 9×9 glass dish. You can also use another dish like Corningware.
Using a fork or whisk, combine all of the ingredients well and spread the mixture over the bottom of the baking dish.
Step 2: Add the chicken
Using tongs, add the chicken thighs to the dish with the yogurt and dredge each thigh with the marinade. Leave all of the thighs in the dish overlapping as required.
TIP: if you have the time, marinate the chicken in the yogurt for up to 24 hours. Simply cover the baking dish with a lid, if it comes with one, or use foil. This dish is great to prep in advance and it’s ready to bake when you are. Â
Step 3: Bake in the oven
Once the oven is heated to 400ËšF, remove the lid/foil from the baking dish and bake in the oven for 40–45 minutes. Â
TIP: If you’ve been marinating the chicken before baking, take it out of the fridge while the oven is heating up to bring it closer to room temperature.

- ¼ cup plain Greek yogurt
- ½ tbsp lemon juice
- â…“ cup G&K Italian dressing
- ¾ tsp salt
- ¾ tsp paprika
- ¾ tsp garlic powder

- If you are making the dish right away, preheat the oven to 400°F.
- In a 9x9 glass baking dish add the yogurt, lemon juice, G&K Italian Dressing and Sub Sauce, salt, paprika and garlic powder. Using a fork or whisk combine the ingredients well and spread across the bottom of the bakeware.1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt, 1/2 tbsp lemon juice, 1/3 cup G&K Italian dressing, 3/4 tsp salt, 3/4 tsp paprika, 3/4 tsp garlic powder
- Add the chicken thighs to the baking dish dredging in the yogurt mixture.8-10 boneless skinless chicken thighs
- If you are prepping the chicken in advance, cover the dish with a lid or foil and refrigerate until you are ready to bake.
- If you are making this dish right away, place the glass dish with the chicken in the preheated oven, uncovered, for 40-45 minutes or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
