Pan-Roasted Asparagus Recipe

Pan-roasted asparagus is one of the easiest sides you can make and thanks to the amazing flavour of the asparagus it only needs the simplest ingredients to make it pop.

Ingredients
 
 

  • 1.3 lbs asparagus (1 bunch)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper

Instructions
 

  • Wash the asparagus under cold water. You will want to trim the bottoms by breaking them off. Gently bend with both hands and let it snap on its own.

  • Put 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a medium pan and turn the burner to medium heat.

  • Once the oil is hot, put the asparagus in the pan and toss it in the oil. Sprinkle with salt and pepper. Cook uncovered for 6-8 minutes depending on the thickness.

  • Turn the asparagus over and cover it with a lid. Cook for another 4 minutes.
  • Once your timer goes off the asparagus should be tender but not soft.
