3-Ingredient Layered Nacho Dip in 5 minutes

This layered nacho dip requires very little effort and will make you look like star at your next party.

This layered nacho dip requires only 3 ingredients and no baking. It’s so ridiculously easy you will wonder why you haven’t made it before.

This is my go-to when I have run out of time, realize at the last minute that I forgot to make my pot-luck contribution, or when I want to spice up my Wednesday night snack.

Preparing Layered Nacho Dip

Ingredients

Sour cream: Sour cream is made from cream from dairy milk. Lactic acid bacteria is added to sweet cream, creating a thick, tangy, creamy substance.

Salsa: Salsa refers to “sauce” but in most cases when we say salsa in North America we are talking about a dip that is often served with Mexican food.

Cheddar Cheese: I like to use old cheddar in this recipe to add a bold flavour. The longer the cheese is aged the sharper the flavour will be. Medium cheddar will also work, but you may need to play around with the spices a bit to ensure enough flavour.

How to Make Layered Nacho Dip

Ok, don’t blink because you might miss it. As you might suspect, all you have to do is layer the ingredients in a dish.

The only real prep is to grate the cheese on a coarse grater and set it aside.

Now, add the sour cream to a 6”x6” glass or clear plastic dish to start with the layering.

Next, add a layer of salsa spreading it out evenly.

Lastly, top with the grated cheese.

Voila!! 3-ingredient layered nacho dip in 5 minutes!!

Substitutions

Sour Cream: You can use cream cheese instead of sour cream but make sure to use soft cream cheese or you won’t be able to get your chip through it. Try whipped cream cheese for ultimate dipability – yup, we’re making up words now – at any temperature.

Cheddar Cheese: You can use other varieties of cheese like Monterey jack. Or try jalapeno jack cheese for added heat.

Serving Layered Nacho Dip

This 3-layer nacho dip is meant to be served with nacho chips. Corn tortilla chips, to be specific, are the perfect pairing with these 3 delicious ingredients.
